XY Trainer Kit to feature Sylveon, Noivern

The first images of the XY Trainer Kit have finally been released, after previously knowing only the release date. Releasing March 12, 2014, the XY Trainer Kit will feature two Half Decks: one featuring Sylveon and the Fairy-type and one featuring Noivern and the Darkness-type and Psychic-type. The booster pack that is usually included in Trainer Kits has been removed; as a result the price has been lowered to $8.99. Also revealed is one of the XY Blister Packs: a Single Pack Blister featuring Salamence from Dragon Vault. Images of the two new products can be seen below.
The Sylveon in the Trainer Kit is most likely a reprint of the Sylveon XY Promo, while the Noivern was a promotional card in Japan given with a Noibat promo to those who purchased a box of Collection X/Collection Y. The other Trainer Kit Pokémon will most likely be comprised of the remainder of the Xerneas Half Deck and Yveltal Half Deck, as not all of those cards will fit in the English XY expansion.

Pokémon Database

January 2008 - Present

Main Page

Pokémon Database is a Pokémon website started in 2008.
Pokémon Database focuses on main series games with content including information on Pokémon, moves, Abilities, and types. It also features a forum-like Q&A section called PokéBase (short for Pokémon Knowledgebase). PokéBase has over 60,000 members and over 40,000 questions.
The site has a Pokémon Showdown! server, which is used to host various tournaments. This site also has a Discord.

The site was founded as a test site in January 2008, only containing a list of Pokémon and some basic details. As more details were added and the design was finalized, the site was moved to the domain pokemondb.co.uk in March 2008. The site continued to grow, receiving up to 100 visitors per day.
In March 2010, the site moved to pokemondb.net to have a more global appeal. In April 2010, the Q&A forum PokéBase was set up and proved to be very popular.
In March 2011, due to the international release of Pokémon Black and White, the site reached over 100,000 unique visitors per day, breaking its previous record. The number of visitors remained high after this rush.
The third redesign of the site began in December 2012, around Christmas. The aim of the design was to allow the site to function well on mobile devices. This redesign was launched in July 2013.

Technical information
The site is coded in PHP with the CodeIgniter framework, and the database runs on MySQL. The server is Nginx, but was previously Apache. PokéBase is run on Question2Answer.

TPM anime-style battling is a system of anime-style battling, based on The PokéMasters forum.

Inspired by the ad-hoc UPN ASB, ditto_pokefreak created a system of consistent and simple rules, bringing it to TPM while he was an anime forum moderator. After a few demonstration battles, the system of ASB quickly became extremely popular, and the first Board of ASB was created as the governing body. The directors of the board consisted of the first battlers and referees. Gym Leaders have been renewed with four new Gym Leaders. Selecting the Gym Leaders hasn't yet finished.
After some dispute over the League's activity in the anime forum, ASB was given a forum of its own. ditto_pokefreak introduced the idea of Towers, that still exist to the current day. The Tower are the central threads that each handles important issues like Refereeing and Pokémon approval.
In today's forum, the PASB is now a thriving community with around 40 members. It is the most popular forum in the entire PokeMasters Forum and is continuing to grow with Tournaments, Contests and a whole range of battlers.

Original rules
Updated July '09

New trainers picked four Pokémon at the basic level, with no legendary Pokémon, which are approved at a Tower.
Signatures are not in use for the time being
Each battle consists of two trainers and one referee who posts the outcomes of the battle. There may be more trainers if it is a Double Battle or a 1 VS 1 VS 1
Each trainer is allowed to issue three commands each round of battle.
The winner will obtain points which will be double of the loser and equal to the ref. The Pokémon that participated will gain experience meaning they can evolve when paid for in the bank.
Continuing evolution
After the original success, ASB continued to evolve and grow. Many new rules were eventually added, including rules governing economy and the creation of additional Towers and appointed positions. To this day, ASB has gone through many changes as well as upheavals, but is still home to many Trainers at The PokéMasters.
